ELIGIBILITY & ENROLMENT DETAILS
Camps are currently open to young people between the ages of 7-17 years.
Depending on the needs of the Child’s individual plan, we work on a carer ratio between 1:1 & 1:2 for young people with special needs who are taking part in our daily activities. Behaviour challenges and communication needs will be discussed in your intake interview. If a camper is unable to participate in a particular activity, alternative arrange may be made.
As part of our Camp Enrolment process you will be asked to provide information of your child’s disability diagnosis as well as proof of NDIS funding eligibility. During our camp intake process you will be asked for other medical details as well as a personality profile so we are best prepared to maximise your child’s experience whilst on camp.
PLEASE CONFIRM ALL FUNDING BEFORE STARTING AN ENROLMENT PROCESS.
The process for application to attend a camp is as follows:
Stage 1 > Contact Life Skills & Adventures indicating your desire to attend a camp.
Stage 2 > Life Skills and Adventures will provisionally allocate camp dates to family.
Stage 3 > We will arrange a time to conduct an intake interview with the primary contact for your family. As part of the enrolment process, you will be required to provide proof of diagnosis/diagnoses, and select your preferred camp dates/locations.
Stage 4 > Life Skills & Adventures will issue an invoice for payment.
Stage 5 > Life Skills & Adventures issues a Camp Agreement.
A Camp Agreement will not be issued until Stages 1-4 are completed. Camp Agreements are issued on a first in, best dressed basis.
All other fees listed in the Camp Agreement are refundable until 7 clear business days before camp. In the event that Life Skills & Adventures has to postpone your camp due to unforeseen circumstances, your family will be offered alternative camp dates.
In the event that a family wishes to postpone or book alternative camp dates after a Camp Agreement has been signed, seven clear business days’ written notice will be required.
All fees associated with postponements/cancellations made within 10 clear business days of the camp are non-refundable. Our cancellation terms are balanced to share the risk between our business and families.
We support this by running a standby list so usually there are families who can step in on late notice. We will always endeavour to fill late cancellation spots from our standby list but we cannot guarantee this.
If you don’t have NDIS and/or Carer funding you are welcome to pay those costs as out-of-pocket expenses to attend our camps. If this cost is out of reach for you, you may be eligible for our Special Funding Assistance Program.
We accept enrolments from overseas with all costs being paid as out-of-pocket expenses.
