Frequently Asked Questions
Here are a few of the questions we get the most. If you don’t see what’s on your mind, reach out to us anytime on phone, chat, or email.
General
Yes, All food is included and we can cater to specific dietary requirements (provided that sufficient notice is given).
Yes, this is an all-inclusive camp with all fees included in the camp fee.
Yes you can, but all children/families are required to attend from day one, so as to create stability for the whole group. No refund or discount is offered if you decide to leave camp early, and we encourage children/families to stay for the entire time.
The age range for our programs is usually 8-18 years. We understand that it can be challenging to find the right fit if the young person is intellectually disabled and will need to assess the child on a case by case basis to determine whether they will be suitable for our camp if they are outside of these parameters.
Absolutely. Our aim is provide an encouraging environment that stretches each child to grow and gain confidence. If a child feels overwhelmed at any time and does not want to attend a particular activity, they will not be pressured and can sit out the activity along with one of our carers – and are welcome to do an alternative activity if they wish (within reason).
No. Our camps are completely non-drinking, non-smoking, no drug events.
We encourage children/families to treat this as a nature-based holiday, and leave devices at home. However, we understand that some young people rely on screen time to calm them down in times of anxiety. Children are not to bring their own personal cameras, phones, or electronic devices to the service, unless permission has been provided in writing to the Camp Director, for each of the days required for use. We respectfully request that, if devices are being used, this is done in the privacy of your own cabin, rather than in communal spaces.
No pets are allowed on the camp property. The only exceptions to this rule are Assistance Animals or Emotional Support Animals. A letter from a licensed mental health professional, and/or an Assistance Animal Permit must be sighted by Life Skills & Adventures at least 7 days before attending the camp for the animal to be permitted to attend.
